    First steps

    in 3D Printing

Starting to play around with my first few finished pieces. This terrain set is superb, and I can’t wait to continue building up the set! I am curious - any tips for improving the ‘snap fit’ on the riser tiles? Some snap together nicely, but some don‘t adhere when connected. Thanks TST for the awesome set!

From my perspective, some of the risers are really hard to snap into. To me this is fine. I would rather it be tight then loose. To get them apart I use a needle nose pliers, they come apart pretty easy with a tool.

Hi James. That’s looking great! Jeff and I have had a chat about the problem you’re describing and we actually have the same issue from time to time. It’s odd that some snap really well and some don’t, and to be honest we’re not entirely sure why that is. One thing that came out of our conversation about it is to maybe try printing them at a much lower layer height eg .08 or .12. It’ll take longer but may provide the much lower tolerances required for a snap fit? We’ll try it as well, and if it makes a difference it’ll be added to the print guide. Thanks for the question. Jay
